Discover Dive December 4

I had the chance to bring some of my friends for another discover diving program. Some of those who joined were participants of our Basic Life Support and ACLS seminar program in Nurselink Review Center in Cebu.

We were able to start with the activity by 10 in the morning. Prior to the discover diving, a briefing was conducted by our dive masters followed by the application of the basic skills. We did these in front of Cebu Beach Club.

After the basic skills introduction, we then cross towards Olango Island and anchored in Talima Sanctuary for the discover dive. It was indeed anther fun experience most especially for the first time divers.
.
Well, for us, it was another diving experience and once again, looking forward for another chance to dive again.

A Dive With Johnny...

Its been quite a while since I have not dived. I missed the sea as well as the fishes and beauty underneath. But just recently, a friend of mine arrived from the states and I wanted to treat him out so he can feel for himself how it is to dive...

I brought him to our usual diving hangout, Tonggo Beach in Marigondon where we meet with diving buddy Yoyon. Everything is set and in a couple of seconds, John is all suit up for the dive.

Of course before going under water, he has to familiarize himself with some basic skills and what can I say, he is a fast learner. From there, down we go and Johnny was moving skillfully. Perhaps the only thing that needs adjustment is his bouyancy. I think with just one more dive, he will be maneuvering like a fish...

Well, by the next time you see another post here about Johnny, it will be the time where he will be taking his diving license....

Our Discover Diving Program

One of our discover diving participant during the discover diving program (June 2, 2011)

Hi guys, it has been a while since I have not updated this blog. I have been very busy conducting trainings and have been out of Cebu most of the time. Gladly, some of our dive masters were available to accommodate this discover diving request.

Perhaps I will also explain to you our Discover Diving Program as I show you pictures of our latest diving activity.

Our Discover Diving Program is open to any individuals 14 years old and above. A minimum of 12 participants are needed to come up with a dive session. We need 12 participants to come up with a lower rate since most discover diving programs are quite expensive. All in all, our total charge per head is only 1100 pesos inclusive of the diving gears, boat, as well as food and drinks.

The whole activity usually starts at 9 am and ends up at 5 pm. Here is a rundown of the program.briefing before the dive

It starts with a short briefing in the boat. The dive master will introduce the basics of diving as well as the different hand signals during the dive. After the briefing, we then divide the participants into 3-4 groups and bring them in the water for an introduction and application of the basic diving skills. After the basic skills are thought, we now move them to a deeper area to move around so that they can adjust their buoyancy. Lunch will be served after this and after lunch, the discover dive begins.....

Discover Dive...... try it yourself, I'm sure that you will surely discover that there is more to see underwater as compared to what you see above the water... Oh, I failed to mention that we take pictures of your dive.. similar to what you see below......

Dive With the Whales

Did I tell you that at first I never had any interest in Scuba Diving? Yes, I really do not have such interest before. It was actually my sister Jenny who started this all. As you can see, my sister has been diving for quite a time. She was the one who convince me to go diving....

Anyway, just recently my sister did a dive. But it was something special and extra ordinary. What is so special about it? It was not about the sea, nor the corals, but rather the WHALE!

Yes, she dive along with the whales. Here are some of the pictures of here dive that she took herself:
She was under this whale taking this photo....

Some for her friends who took a closer look at the whale

I am really amazed... How I wish I will also have such experience. Perhaps one day my time will come. The pictures were taken in one of the resorts in Maldives. My sister works there as the Director for Operations in one of the resort (FOUR SEASONS) and always have the opportunity to dive and use the resorts facilities.

New Year post part 3

The GRADUATES!

Finally the time has come for the diving graduation. Well prior to the distribution of the cards and certificates, the divers must prove that they are worthy of such.. They have to dive underwater without the gears and wear the gears from below the sea...

Well what can I say Congratulations to you guys!

The New Year Post Part 2

I am also very proud and happy indeed to have dived with some of my friends who decided to get diving license. They tried our discover diving activity before and from there decided to obtain a diving license. I accompanied them on one of their diving class to take a picture.

Not only did I take a picture but I took some videos as well... Here is one of the video:

Along the way, I was able to see some fishes enjoying a hearty meal... I could not help but take a picture of them...

After our dive, our boat docked in Cebu Beach Club. It was also the time where my fellow SWAT medic Gerry and some other PNP personnel had their first diving lesson. As always, the first diving lesson usually starts in the swimming pool. Well, I had the opportunity to take a picture of Gerry performing one of the basic skill... removing the BCD underwater and putting them back on...

Well, I was told that our Diving Instructor has scheduled for a scuba diving activity activity for the two groups together. Perhaps he has decided to come up with one Graduation Dive for the two groups....

The New Year Post

I have not updated this blog for quite a time. I have been very busy lately. But this does not mean that I have not dived already. Before anything else, Happy New Year to all!

The last diving post that I did was last June 30, will after that I did have several diving adventures. Here are some of them:

NOVEMBER 28, 2010

I would call this more of a Family Reunion Dive. One of our discover diving participant requested for another dive. This time together with here family. When I mean family, it includes everyone.. even her 3 year old sister came along. But of course only those who were old enough were allowed to dive..

The diving would not be complete without the picture of Mom and Dad:

Along with them are a group of nurses working in Chong Hua Hospital who also requested for a scheduled dive and some other friends. Well definitely it was another fun and adventure for them...

There were also some who are just friends of friends who came along to join. Definitely they find it great and have advised that they will certainly try it again.
