Had another dive today with some friends along with some of my students who have taken our emergency course....

Just take a look at the background... I am really amazed as to the number of fishes in the area....

Tambuli Fun Diving May 8, 2010

We had another Fun Diving activity today. Our target was the sunken airplane fronting the Tambuli Beach resort in Lapu-lapu City.
The group were able to pose for a photo on top of the sunken airplane.

We brought some bread during the dive and I was able to take a video during the fish feeding....

Sumilon Fun Diving May 2

I have been wishing to go to Sumilon (Bluewater) Island in Cebu. The objective of course was to go scuba diving. Well, our Dive Instructors Sir Emi, along with the rest of his dive masters, my family, and friends with some police officers finally had our chance. It was a three hour drive from the city but it was indeed very exciting. Upon arrival, I took time to picture the wharf area for the pumpboat that will bring us to Sumilon Island.

Well, I could see from this point of view that the trip was well worth it. We have not reach our destination yet. This is our actual target, the SUMILON BLUEWATER RESORT:

It was a 10 minute boat ride towards the island. Shortly after arrival, we did not waste time and dived right away. The second dive was very exciting considering that I was able to take a picture of a turtle who was gracefully swimming within the area...

Not only that, the corals were also abundant. Now tell me, where else could you find such sea cucumber this large????

Fishes? Well just take a loot at this video.....

Need I say more? Well, I will surely go back to the island later on. But before going back, we are planning to go to Moalboal later and see what the diving site can offer....

March 28 Dive Log

Location: Tonggo Beach Resort, Lapu-lapu City
Time: 1430 HRS

I was again underwater with Yoyon, one of our dive master. The current was a little bit rough. I really feel it moving against me as I move down to 20 meters. Well, to late to go back now, I am already here so might as well enjoy.
I was not able to take much pictures as we move forward but as we were coming back, I had the opportunity to take some.

For the several diving sessions that I did, I never failed to notice the presence of Lion fishes in the area. It seems there are plenty of them in this site.
I also was amazed to see this big star partly hidden in the coral. Its quite big from the star fishes that we usually see in the sand.

Now look at this fish. If it was in the military, then this fish would be a good sniper. It has the perfect camouflage.

Well, some of the pictures I have taken were coral formations.

March 21 Dive Log

In case I have not mentioned, I have been teaching in the University of San Carlos, handling First aid and Basic Life Support Subject for several Physical Education students. Our finals was held in the beach area.
Part of the exam was responding to an emergency (rescue simulation) and CPR return demonstration.

A short discussion on Water Safety was also held and more than that, the students had their scuba diving experience.

Dive Log March 14, 2010

Dive Log Dated March 14, 2010.
Location: Tonggo Beach
Lapu-lapu City

The tide was low but still it was a good dive. The current was also very slow which eventually made the dive very easy and cool. I have reached another milestone by diving up to 40 meters (131.23 feet).
Going down I was able to take a few pictures along the way. The first one was taken at 20 meters. I am really sorry I could not name this but it was really a great site worth the taking.

As I headed down, I saw this bottle which seems to have adapted with the environment already. Perhaps it was there for quite a time already considering that some corals have set in already.

This coral really amazed me. If you try to look at it, it looks like a hand praying... I have not seen this before on my previous dive considering that we are just diving 20 - 30 meters on previous dives.

Well, that's all for now... See you on the next dive.

Dive Log March 7, 2010

Well, we are once again underwater, at 15oo hours. Together with my two dive master buddies, we took another dip underwater. The current was a little bit rough compared to our previous dive but well it was still a very enjoyable experience.

We were underwater for a total of 45 minutes going under 25 meters the deepest. I had another chance to take some pictures but mostly the view are just the same. I am rally planning to take a dive in the sanctuary later on to take great pictures. For the meantime, this will just have to do, a picture of fishes as we approach 20 meters deep.

Feb 27 Dive Log - Tongo Beach, Lapu-lapu City

Went diving with my friends today. The water was quite calm and clear. It was really a great dive. We have reached 20 meters dive for about 40 minutes. Well, I took a few pictures along the way as well as tried my video cam.

What caught my attention was this lion fish who seem to be pausing in the water without minding me taking the picture.

For the very first time, I took a video underwater. It was just a trial run and just wanted to find out if it would work fine. So here it is...

Well that's it for now.. At least I know that my video camera is functioning quite well underwater. I will surely take more later on, with great and exciting scenes.

Feb 24, 2010 Dive Blog

A group of people availed of our Discover Diving Program. They jump off around 10 am and proceeded near Hilutungan Channel for their first dive. As usual, they were brief on various aspects of safety as well as in using the equipment.

After that, it was smooth sailing for the participants.

I do believe that they really enjoyed the activity considering that feedback that we have receive after their dive.

Most likely they will be taking another round of discover diving the moment they are all free from work.

February 14, 2010

Its been quite a while since I went diving again. Just last week, I did another dive but was not able to take any pictures of the dive. Well, today, I went diving again together with my instructors and was able to take a few pictures along the way.

I would say that it was really great considering that the water is quite clear and the current was not strong. I also had fun tinkering with my camera considering that its the very first time I was able to use it during diving.

The previous one I use was not designed for diving and I only bought a casing that would enable me to use it under water. Sadly, it was only good for a few meters.

Well, this time, I can take pictures even up to 60 meters. Along the way, I was able to take a picture of some great things underwater. Considering that I am still a newbie in diving, I am not familiar with the names of those that I have taken. But I would like to share the pictures hoping that you will see and appreciate them.

What struck me most was this picture you see below.... I believe you know what these fishes were doing... Well I just remembered... Its February 14, Valentines day...

So to everyone.... Happy Valentines Day.....
